you’re going to be okay

*Think it Thursday* and you’re going to be okay –

Today’s one of those days that I’m getting personal.

I’m speaking to those of you who feel you’re in a dark place, stuck, and wondering how you will make it through whatever challenge you are facing.

You may be feeling fear and worry that things won’t get better in your life.

I know just how you feel.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know that I’ve been redesigning my life and creating a new normal over the last few years as I’m navigating life as a single mom. I’ve been managing the ups and downs of chronic fatigue and trying to keep the faith that it will get better.

I’ve been forging ahead and yet – I’m sort of breathing a sigh of relief lately.  I feel that sense of, wow I made it through – and I’m still standing.  I’m still moving forward.

I remember feeling so much fear and experiencing deep sadness.
I remember so much uncertainty and wishing it would all just go away.

I’ve been putting one foot in front of the other and it wasn’t until recently that I had an appreciation for how much I’ve come through and what I’ve overcome.  Not because of me, but because of the possibilities that life allows us.

Within you is the ability to overcome every challenge in front of you.  Even when it’s not easy.

And believe me – it never feels easy.

If you’re reading this and feeling that you can’t keep going– I understand.
If you’re wondering if you’ll make it through – I understand.
If you’re thinking the end of this challenge should be sooner rather than later – I totally understand.

And yet I promise you – you can handle this challenge in front of you.

You are capable, and you are strong.

You were designed to overcome this challenge.

Your faith, your strength, and your courage will come together as a force of nature.  You’ll do it.  I promise.

Sending you extra love today.

Have a great day, one thought at a time!

Xoxo

1:1

*Think it Thursday* and 1:1 –

I went away last weekend with my oldest son – just the two of us. I was determined to make it happen, and so grateful that we could pull it off.

It was the best time spent not because of the sights and the food (even though they were amazing), but really because we were connecting.

There were no email notifications, no, “wait just a minute,” and plenty of time to talk about how things are going.
Priceless.

Maybe it won’t be a full weekend, but find time for 1:1 connection time with the people that matter most in your life.

It can be 5 minutes of “how was your day?”
It might be 10 minutes of walking around the block to chat.
Or maybe perhaps turning off your phone while you fold laundry together.

Take the time, make the time, you won’t regret it.

Have a great day, one thought at a time!

God has you covered

It’s your *Friday Love Note* because you deserve it –

My son’s church leader reached out to me this week to talk about the upcoming lesson…
It’s all about the “ideal” family.
Ugh. Sigh.

I know how painful this topic is for my clients. I know how painful it is for my kids.
I know how painful it was for me, for so many years.
I’m guessing… it might be painful for you too.

When you hear all about the “ideal” family, it’s easy to interpret your life as a sad state.
It’s easy to believe that happiness, true and ultimate happiness, is outside of the realm of possibilities for you.
You may feel inadequate, or think that your situation is inadequate to be able to provide you all the happiness you want.

I disagree.

I believe that God has you covered. No matter your situation or circumstance – God always makes up the difference. Your life doesn’t look like the white picket fence, but every blessing, every happiness, and every ounce of progress is possible for you.

No one has the “ideal.”
We don’t control the choices of others.
And it was never supposed to be that way.
Life is messy. People are human. Things are never picture perfect.

It doesn’t matter – God has you covered.

Have an amazing weekend- you deserve it.

love

It’s *Think it Thursday* and love

All your kids need is love.

It’s easy to think that we need to do SO many things for our kids in order to ensure their success and happiness. It’s easy to let these expectations stress us out and take away from what’s most important.
Which is… love.

Your kids just want you there. They don’t need expensive things. They don’t need a home in perfect order. They don’t need to eat organic for every meal of the day.

What they need, is love. Unconditional, never ending, always meaningful – love.

Are you giving it to them?

Get rid of the unnecessary and focus on what matters most.
I’m working on doing the same.

Think about it.

Have a great day, one thought at a time!

5 Days

It’s your *Friday Love Note* and 5 Days.

I can’t wait for the 5 day challenge next week.

(Oh, and if you haven’t joined, go ahead and click here.)

I’m excited to help you build your single mom confidence and I cannot wait to hear the success stories.

We spend too little time celebrating success IMO.

But this 5 days will be all about succeeding at building confidence and sharing that success.

When I hear about how my clients are succeeding – it’s a reminder to me that change is possible.

The success they share with each other – creates more success for the group.

We create success, share success, and increase success. It’s magical.

What you focus on grows, so why not focus on success, right?!

What success did you have this week?
What success are you creating today?
What success are you planning for tomorrow?

Have an amazing weekend, because you deserve it!
